What NIS2 asks of your vendors

Article 21(2)(d)

Supply chain security

Cybersecurity risk-management measures must include "supply chain security, including security-related aspects concerning the relationships between each entity and its direct suppliers or service providers".

Article 21(3)

Supplier vulnerabilities and secure development

Entities must take into account the vulnerabilities specific to each direct supplier and the overall quality of its products and cybersecurity practices, "including their secure development procedures".

Supplier continuity

Measures must include business continuity, such as backup management and disaster recovery, and crisis management, which extends to services a supplier runs for the entity.

Is a SOC 2 report enough for NIS2?

A SOC 2 report or ISO 27001 certificate may support the security parts of NIS2, but supplier vulnerabilities and secure development, supplier continuity need other evidence. Confirm sufficiency with your counsel or auditor.
