These terms govern use of certreports.com and soc2status.com (the "Service"), operated by CertReports ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to them.
The Service is an index, not advice
CertReports indexes public compliance evidence about software vendors. It reports what public sources and vendors state, with dates and sources. It is not legal, security or procurement advice, and it does not certify, audit or endorse any vendor. Reviewers must obtain reports, certificates and contracts from vendors directly and make their own assessment.
Accuracy
We publish our accuracy policy and correct errors within two business days of a dispute. States describe public evidence at a point in time; a "No public evidence" state does not mean a vendor is non-compliant. We do not warrant that the index is complete or current.
Accounts and plans
Accounts are created on first sign-in. Paid plans are billed through Stripe in USD, with GBP pricing available, and can be cancelled from the customer portal at any time; access continues to the end of the paid period. Seats are for named individuals.
Vendor submissions
By submitting evidence or a correction you confirm you are authorised to do so and you grant us a licence to extract and publish the facts it contains. You must not upload restricted-use reports, including SOC 2 reports; the upload flow refuses them. Submitters are responsible for the accuracy of what they submit.
Acceptable use
- Do not scrape the Service at a rate that degrades it; use the JSON API or a Data plan instead.
- Do not misrepresent CertReports states, or present a CertReports page as a certification.
- Do not use the Service to make defamatory statements about a vendor.
API and embeds
Public JSON and embeds are provided under rate limits and require the canonical backlink to the CertReports page. API keys are personal and metered.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CertReports is provided "as is" and we are not liable for decisions made on the basis of the index. Our aggregate liability to any customer is limited to the fees paid in the twelve months before the claim.
