Such personal data is subject to the privacy policies of the entity that collected or shared the data with Civis and the principles of the Privacy Shield. When Civis processes data from public sources that contain EU data, Civis does so in a manner that is consistent with the restrictions placed on that data by the entity that released it and with the principles of the Privacy Shield. Public and private data is subject to the terms of use and privacy policies of the entities that released the data or licensed the data to Civis. Civis may collect and process such data at its client's direction. When Civis uses personal data for its own purposes, Civis does so to improve its data science practices and its business. Civis may also use personal data to monitor and protect its business, perform security screenings, to investigate, prevent, or take action relating to illegal activities, violations of our policies, and for other business purposes discussed in its Privacy Policy. Civis may share personal data with third party companies to provide technologies, services, or content to its clients or particular individuals. Civis maintains contracts with these third parties restricting their access, use and disclosure of personal data in compliance with Civis's Privacy Shield obligations.

What GDPR means, and what it does not

"GDPR compliant" is a claim, not a certification. The verifiable facts are a public DPA, SCC usage, an EU representative, data residency options and a Data Privacy Framework listing.

Questions buyers ask

Is Civis Analytics GDPR compliant?

There is no GDPR certification in general use. The verifiable facts are a public data processing agreement, standard contractual clauses, an EU representative and a Data Privacy Framework listing. See the legal artefacts and the DPF row on this page, each with its capture date.

How does CertReports verify this?

Every state carries a capture date, a source and a snapshot link. Registry rows come from the official registry data; vendor statements come from the vendor’s own page or trust centre; nothing is inferred. Vendors can dispute any row and corrections ship within two business days.
