Scope
Clearview collects the following data from users wither user consent: contact information, employer, IP address, browser information, location data, search history, and login history. We collect this information to facilitate user onboarding/account creation, verify that users are law enforcement and security professionals, provide customer service support, enhance cybersecurity and facilitate audits to ensure responsible use. We share user contact information and employer with a third party customer relationship management software provider to facilitate customer service and sales. Clearview also uses proprietary methods to collect publicly available images from various sources on the Internet. Clearview does not collect images that are protected by privacy settings or passwords. We share these images with our users in a searchable format in order to facilitate law enforcement investigations of crimes, and to assist investigations of incidents of fraud and identity theft. Only vetted law enforcement and security professionals have access to our data and can use our technology.

What GDPR means, and what it does not

"GDPR compliant" is a claim, not a certification. The verifiable facts are a public DPA, SCC usage, an EU representative, data residency options and a Data Privacy Framework listing.

Questions buyers ask

Is Clearview AI GDPR compliant?

There is no GDPR certification in general use. The verifiable facts are a public data processing agreement, standard contractual clauses, an EU representative and a Data Privacy Framework listing. See the legal artefacts and the DPF row on this page, each with its capture date.

How does CertReports verify this?

Every state carries a capture date, a source and a snapshot link. Registry rows come from the official registry data; vendor statements come from the vendor’s own page or trust centre; nothing is inferred. Vendors can dispute any row and corrections ship within two business days.
