Scope
Honey is a browser extension that automatically finds and applies coupon codes at checkout for retail shopping sites. Honey does not sell any user's personal information to third-parties for advertising or for any other purposes. Users can install Honey without inputting any personally identifying information. If they so choose, users can create a profile with Honey that includes name and email, or link their social media account, but Honey does not make this a requirement. Users can also share their contacts when they make referrals, but such information is limited to that purpose and is user-initiated. They can also choose to add retail items to a Droplist and be alerted to price changes. Honey collects automatically generated information such as IP, log data, cookies, and device information for purposes of internal analytics, maintenance, and fraud detection. When a user makes a purchase at an online retailer using a Honey coupon, Honey may receive an affiliate commission fee from the retailer (a portion of which Honey may pass onto the user through its loyalty program). Accordingly, Honey collects product and transaction data such as item, price, and in-stock availability from a whitelist of known retail sites. Again, this information (to the extent that it even may be deemed personal) is used only to enact user transactions and improve the Honey service, and is not sold to third-parties for advertising or any other purposes.

What GDPR means, and what it does not

"GDPR compliant" is a claim, not a certification. The verifiable facts are a public DPA, SCC usage, an EU representative, data residency options and a Data Privacy Framework listing.

Questions buyers ask

Is Honey Science GDPR compliant?

There is no GDPR certification in general use. The verifiable facts are a public data processing agreement, standard contractual clauses, an EU representative and a Data Privacy Framework listing. See the legal artefacts and the DPF row on this page, each with its capture date.

How does CertReports verify this?

Every state carries a capture date, a source and a snapshot link. Registry rows come from the official registry data; vendor statements come from the vendor’s own page or trust centre; nothing is inferred. Vendors can dispute any row and corrections ship within two business days.
