Scope
Identity Guardian provides a cloud-based identity monitoring solution that will enable consumers to monitor their personal email and other data on the Internet. In order to monitor identities, a solution provider ask users to provide personal information such as their email addresses and phone numbers and Identity Guardian uses that information to scour the web and other publicly available sources, looking for any mention of information related to the user’s identity and alerts the users of the information found. In addition, Identity Guardian monitors information that becomes available on the dark web that originates from data breaches and alerts the user if their email or other piece of identity information appeared in a data breach. The Privacy Shield certification is meant to cover data transfer of EU organization who offer the Identity Guardian solution to their users and therefore required to pass personal information to be monitor by Identity Guardian, making Identity Guardian a Processor or a Sub-Processor of such personal data.

What GDPR means, and what it does not

"GDPR compliant" is a claim, not a certification. The verifiable facts are a public DPA, SCC usage, an EU representative, data residency options and a Data Privacy Framework listing.

Questions buyers ask

Is Identity Guardian GDPR compliant?

There is no GDPR certification in general use. The verifiable facts are a public data processing agreement, standard contractual clauses, an EU representative and a Data Privacy Framework listing. See the legal artefacts and the DPF row on this page, each with its capture date.

How does CertReports verify this?

Every state carries a capture date, a source and a snapshot link. Registry rows come from the official registry data; vendor statements come from the vendor’s own page or trust centre; nothing is inferred. Vendors can dispute any row and corrections ship within two business days.
