- Nuix develops and hosts software that our customers use to operate aspects of their business. The tools enable customers to discover, organize, analyze, and index large datasets for investigations, e-discovery, data governance, and data breach response. As such we process personal data and data controller and as data processor. Nuix, as a data controller, processes personal data relating to our customers, vendors, partners, prospective customers, website visitors, employees and prospective employees. As a data controller, Nuix engages third-party cloud and SaaS providers as data processors to perform some of our processing operations. The personal data from our customers, vendors, and partners processed by Nuix includes business contact information and other business-related personal information required for the purposes of performing contracts and in the legitimate interests of supporting the conduct and development of our business. The personal data of prospective customers that Nuix processes includes business contact information and other relevant professional information necessary for the purpose of direct marketing, engaging individuals about events, promotions, and communications and is based on the individual’s consent. The personal data of website visitors processed by Nuix includes information about the visitor’s device and use of the website. This personal data is processed based on Nuix’s legitimate interest, and, where required, individual consent for the purpose of operating, evaluating, maintaining, securing, and improving the website. Nuix processes employee and prospective employee personal data in the performance of employment contracts (payroll, benefits administration) and other purposes Nuix’s legitimate interest including, assessing qualifications for employment, managing the business, managing the employment relationship, and complying with the law, maintaining the security of Nuix’s systems. Nuix, as a "data processor" or subprocessor, processes personal data on behalf of its customers according to the customer’s instructions. In this capacity, Nuix does not determine that categories of personal data, the purposes for, or the means of processing the personal data. Nuix, in accordance with our customer agreements, Nuix may engage sub processors such as cloud service providers to provide processing services on our behalf.
