- The Polar Cloud (polar3d.com) operates as an educational technology software web application catering to students, teachers, and hobbyists. Our primary purpose for processing personal data is to facilitate user sign in and provide a seamless printing experience. The personal data processed includes: Personal data such as first name, last name, and email address, collected during the OAuth 2.0 authentication process. This information is required by the login providers. No other information is stored, just a token that tells our services that the user is legitimate and can be authenticated for sign-in. User preferences, settings, and certain interactions with the platform to optimize functionality and tailer the user experience based (i.e. they can choose which notifications they wish to receive). Object files that the user uploads for printing via the Polar Cloud platform. While the objects themselves may not inherently contain personal data, the process involves interaction with user accounts, which necessitates handling their personal data (and print file) in a secure manner. Third-Party Disclosures: Polar Cloud does not engage in the sale or sharing of user information with third parties. We maintain a strict policy of confidentiality and do not disclose personal data to external entities unless required by law or with explicit user consent. The only instances where limited personal data is shared involve authentication services provided by OAuth 2.0 providers, where basic user information (name, email) is exchanged securely for account creation and login purposes.
