- Scope
- Shift Technology, Inc. processes personal data in two capacities: as a data processor on behalf of its insurance industry clients, and as a data controller with respect to its own website visitors and business contacts. Shift does not process human resources (HR) data in reliance on the EU-U.S. DPF, the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, or the Swiss-U.S. DPF. Customer/Client Data (processed as a data processor) Shift provides a SaaS decision-intelligence platform used by insurance carriers and related organizations for fraud detection, claims handling, subrogation, coverage and liability assessment, and payment integrity. In delivering these services, Shift processes personal data that its clients submit to the platform, which may include claimant, policyholder, and other individuals' data contained in claims, policy, and related records, solely for the purpose of performing the contracted services and strictly in accordance with each client's written instructions and data processing agreement. Shift does not determine the purposes for which this data is processed and does not use it for any purpose beyond providing the service to the client. Visitor/Business Contact Data (processed as a data controller) Shift also collects personal data (e.g., name, email address, phone number, company, and device/usage data) from visitors to its website and from business contacts, including prospects and partners, who interact with Shift directly, for example through contact forms, demo requests, event registrations, or newsletter sign-ups. This data is used for website administration and security, communications, customer service, marketing (subject to applicable consent and opt-out rights), and research and development to improve Shift's products and services. Third-Party Disclosures Personal data processed by Shift may be disclosed to: (i) Shift Group affiliates and subsidiaries; (ii) subprocessors and service providers, such as cloud hosting and IT service providers, engaged to support the platform or website, subject to client consent where Shift acts as a data processor; and (iii) financial, judicial, or regulatory authorities where required by applicable law.

What GDPR means, and what it does not
"GDPR compliant" is a claim, not a certification. The verifiable facts are a public DPA, SCC usage, an EU representative, data residency options and a Data Privacy Framework listing.
Read the GDPR guide and browse all vendors with evidenceQuestions buyers ask
Is Shift Technology GDPR compliant?
There is no GDPR certification in general use. The verifiable facts are a public data processing agreement, standard contractual clauses, an EU representative and a Data Privacy Framework listing. See the legal artefacts and the DPF row on this page, each with its capture date.
How does CertReports verify this?
Every state carries a capture date, a source and a snapshot link. Registry rows come from the official registry data; vendor statements come from the vendor’s own page or trust centre; nothing is inferred. Vendors can dispute any row and corrections ship within two business days.
