- Scope
- o ViaWest collects information about our customers and prospective customers in three ways. First, we may collect and store some personally identifiable information (such as name, telephone number, and e-mail address) that is provided to us through surveys, job applications, contests, service orders, or inquiries on our website or by phone. Second, we may collect and store information about visits to our website in collective or aggregated data that does not identify individuals specifically. Third, we may collect and store information through the use of "cookies." The term "cookies" refers to lines of text that are transmitted to a web browser when clicking on a site, providing a way for a server to recall a previous request or previous registration, or keep track of a transaction as it progresses, so that information does not have to be repeated. ViaWest uses all of this information to help maintain accurate accounts, to provide and to change services, to provide accurate billing and shipping, to answer inquiries, to market services and products, and to help make our website useful to our customers and prospective customers. o The information that we obtain from customers and potential customers is generally necessary for ViaWest to provide services and to design new services for the future use of our customers. As a general rule, ViaWest will not sell, trade, or disclose to third parties personal information gathered online about third parties without their consent. The only exceptions to this rule are: (1) when we work with affiliated businesses, partners, or agents to develop a relationship with our customers or to perform services for our customers on our behalf or (2) as may be required by subpoena, search warrant, or other legal process or in the case of imminent physical harm to our customers or others. In the case of (1) above, we require the relevant businesses, partners, or agents to adhere to our policies regarding the use and protection of personal information.

What GDPR means, and what it does not
"GDPR compliant" is a claim, not a certification. The verifiable facts are a public DPA, SCC usage, an EU representative, data residency options and a Data Privacy Framework listing.
Read the GDPR guide and browse all vendors with evidenceQuestions buyers ask
Is ViaWest GDPR compliant?
There is no GDPR certification in general use. The verifiable facts are a public data processing agreement, standard contractual clauses, an EU representative and a Data Privacy Framework listing. See the legal artefacts and the DPF row on this page, each with its capture date.
How does CertReports verify this?
Every state carries a capture date, a source and a snapshot link. Registry rows come from the official registry data; vendor statements come from the vendor’s own page or trust centre; nothing is inferred. Vendors can dispute any row and corrections ship within two business days.
