Scope
Visly Inc provides a downloadable desktop application that helps software developers build their projects more easily. We operate on a ‘freemium’ model, wherein every customer can access a free version of the app, but they are given the choice to purchase a paid version that offers more features than the free version, like the ability for developers to collaborate on a project together at the same time, kind of like a Google Doc. The data we collect for each customer depends on which version the customer chooses to use. To that end, we process the following types of customer data: • For all customers, gathered when a visitor selects a ‘sign up for access’ button and is taken through a series of questions to enter the following data: a. Email address b. Size of company c. Collaboration network of choice (NB: these function as a place for programmers to work on projects together and also function as a type of social media network) d. Primary operating system used (i.e. - what operating system a programmer writes code for) e. Primary programming language used Visitors who choose to select the ‘sign up for access’ button are told how the data will be used and asked if they consent to this prior to the information being sent to us. We use this data to later send the interested visitors a link to access the product, at which point they can choose whether to use the product as a free or paid user. Collecting this data helps us understand who to invite to use the product, as it is still in beta testing and we have chosen to offer it on a gradual release - the data we collect allows us to determine who to prioritize when sending out product access invitations. • For customers using the paid version, gathered during the checkout process: a. Name b. Email address c. Billing address d. Payment card details (card number, CCV, and expiration date) e. Phone number The paid service offers product features additional to the free service and it is necessary for us to collect this billing information in order to bill the customers who choose the paid service. We share this data with Stripe, a third party that processes our payments - they only use this data to process payments.

What GDPR means, and what it does not

"GDPR compliant" is a claim, not a certification. The verifiable facts are a public DPA, SCC usage, an EU representative, data residency options and a Data Privacy Framework listing.

Questions buyers ask

Is Visly GDPR compliant?

There is no GDPR certification in general use. The verifiable facts are a public data processing agreement, standard contractual clauses, an EU representative and a Data Privacy Framework listing. See the legal artefacts and the DPF row on this page, each with its capture date.

How does CertReports verify this?

Every state carries a capture date, a source and a snapshot link. Registry rows come from the official registry data; vendor statements come from the vendor’s own page or trust centre; nothing is inferred. Vendors can dispute any row and corrections ship within two business days.
