- Marchex obtains and stores personal data through its website when customers apply for accounts. The personal data is relevant to our provision of services. This data is used for account administration and is not shared with third parties. Marchex also automatically collects data through cookies and possibly other tracking technologies for website analytics, and it may share this information with third parties such as analytics or advertising services providers. Marchex also processes data through its analytics services provided to business customers and clients. Such processing is in accordance with the applicable contractual terms of service and/or other written instructions by the relevant clients. For the purpose of providing analytics to clients, we may collect online usage and analytics information from our clients’ owned and operated and/or third-party websites where our clients display tracking telephone numbers made available as part of our services. We may link this information with other information we collect from third parties, including cross-device information, as well as information we collect offline. The types of online usage information we passively collect in providing our analytics services may include IP address, a date and time stamp, device ID, cookie ID, URL and referring URL, browser type, advertising identifiers, header information, and other information about the ad or web page or mobile application the user was viewing. We collect this information automatically via cookies and pixel tags or from third party providers. The actual online usage information collected can vary depending on the tracking parameters our clients choose to deploy for purposes of using our services. We may also collect information related to calls placed and/or SMS and/or MMS messaging content sent to or from our clients, such as caller ID information of the caller/sender or recipient and may link this information to the online activity we have collected, as well as to information collected from third parties which may include cross-device information. Such correlations may be used to help our clients deliver targeted advertising content to their users based on anonymous identifiers. The use of information collected through our analytics services is for the purpose of providing analytics services to our clients. More specifically, Marchex uses this information to provide analytics services on behalf of clients, and to provide clients with reports and metrics about their advertising campaigns, sales performance, and/or customer service interactions.

What GDPR means, and what it does not
"GDPR compliant" is a claim, not a certification. The verifiable facts are a public DPA, SCC usage, an EU representative, data residency options and a Data Privacy Framework listing.
Read the GDPR guide and browse all vendors with evidenceQuestions buyers ask
Is Marchex GDPR compliant?
There is no GDPR certification in general use. The verifiable facts are a public data processing agreement, standard contractual clauses, an EU representative and a Data Privacy Framework listing. See the legal artefacts and the DPF row on this page, each with its capture date.
How does CertReports verify this?
Every state carries a capture date, a source and a snapshot link. Registry rows come from the official registry data; vendor statements come from the vendor’s own page or trust centre; nothing is inferred. Vendors can dispute any row and corrections ship within two business days.
