- Plivo processes personal data in reliance on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. DPF to provide, manage, and improve its cloud communications platform and related services, and to support internal business operations including human resources. 1) Types of personal data processed - Website visitors: When individuals visit Plivo’s website, Plivo collects limited technical information such as IP address and browser data through cookies to improve site performance, maintain security, and analyze visitor trends. - Customers and account holders: To create and manage accounts, Plivo collects contact and account-related information such as name, email address, registered IP address, company name, country, and phone number. This information is used for account provisioning, billing, customer support, and compliance with applicable regulations. - Payment processing: For billing purposes, Plivo uses a third-party payment processor (Stripe) that collects and processes payment information, including cardholder name, credit card number, expiration date, CVV, billing address, country, postal code, state, and city. Plivo does not store full payment card details. - Service usage data: When customers use Plivo’s services, Plivo processes call and message-related metadata (e.g., phone numbers, routing details, date/time of calls or messages, IP address logs) as necessary to deliver services, maintain service quality, troubleshoot issues, and comply with legal or regulatory obligations. - Support interactions: For customer support, Plivo uses a third-party platform (Zendesk) to manage support tickets, which may include customer contact information such as name, phone number, company name, and country. - Telecommunications partners: To complete calls and messages, Plivo discloses phone numbers and related routing information to trusted telecommunications operators. - Human Resources: Plivo processes employee and job applicant data (e.g., name, contact details, job history, employment records) for recruitment, employment, and HR management purposes. This information is stored and managed through a third-party provider (Zoho). 2) Disclosures to third parties Plivo may share personal data with third-party processors for the provision of its services and manage its business compliance, including with: - Payment processor (Stripe): To securely process payments. - Telecommunications operators: To complete calls and message delivery. - Customer support provider (Zendesk): To manage customer support requests. - HR system provider (Zoho): To manage HR and recruitment processes. - Professional advisors: Such as legal counsel, auditors, or accountants when necessary. - Regulatory and government authorities: Where legally required. Plivo does not sell personal data. All third parties are contractually obligated to provide at least the same level of data protection as required by the DPF Principles.
